Diaphragm accumulators are hydropneumatic accumulators with a flexible diaphragm as a separable element between the compressed gas cushion and the working fluid. There are multiple diaphragm battery variants with more than 300 different fluid ports.
Accumulators allowe fluid accumulation under pressure, the latter being practically incompressible. The accumulator holds, stores, and returns fluid under pressure, based on the difference of compression that is created between gas and liquid. They consist of a welded or forged pressure vessel, battery bladder, and gas connection ports and to the center.
In addition to the standard design, special solutions for individual applications are possible, for example for very high discharge rates and high pressures.
