High-pressure steel tubes

Metal flexible tubes differ from other flexible tubes in its material structure and mode of production. Instead of the inner layer, the reinforcement and the outer layer they have a swaged metal plate, "tampered" metal stripes and can be manufactured from stainless steel sheet, such as corrugated Teflon and braided with stainless steel mesh.

Fittings for low-pressure steel galvanized tubes are usually screwed, or welded for high-pressure stainless steel tubes. Low-pressure rubber hoses are differentiated by transported medium; therefore, there are hoses for hot air, food, oil& oil products, chemicals, etc..

These tubes are increasingly replacing high pressure rubber hoses due to the following advantages:

  • thinner wall thicknesses
  • lighter materials used in the manufacture, thus the significant reduction in the total weight of the tube...
  • reduced roughness of the material allows, on the one hand, faster and stronger flow with less pressure loss and easier cleaning and maintenance, on the other
  • aging of the tube material is less pronounced
  • more diversified application (the same type of the tube can be used for several mediums: eg. mineral oils, paints, varnishes, chemicals, etc.)

High-pressure thermoplastic tubes can be distinguished according the type of medium: gases (Freon) - for refrigeration; water – clogged sewage; chemicals, paints, hydraulics..

High-pressure thermoplastic gas tubes

FR5 - thermoplastic tube reinforced with polyester mesh for Freon pressure R22 and R134; used for cooling devices (not suitable for heat pumps!).

JC7 - thermoplastic tube reinforced with two layers of polyester mesh for water pressure (200 bar) , used to clean clogged sewer pipes.

High-pressure thermoplastic tubes for chemicals, paint and hydraulics

VE7 - according to SAE 100R7 standard for the pressure in hydraulic oils, paints, varnish and diluted chemicals, this thermoplastic tube is reinforced with two layers of polyester mesh.
MT1 - thermoplastic tube reinforced with steel mesh to sustain the pressure in hydraulic oils, paints, varnish and diluted chemicals.
MT2 - thermoplastic tube reinforced with two layers of steel mesh to sustain the pressure in hydraulic oils, paints, varnish and diluted chemicals.
MTK - thermoplastic tube reinforced with a layer of steel and Kevlar mesh to sustain the pressure in hydraulic oils, paints, varnish and diluted chemicals.

Rubber hoses are indispensable in the following applications:

  • In hydraulics (retention of large hydraulic shock, sustaining the high pressure in hoses with larger diameter, abrasion resistance of the outer layer)
  • Using miniwash (power jet) systems (washing with hot water under pressure where thermoplastic tubes cannot withstand the temperature of boiling water)
  • Cleaning clogged sewage (high flexibility of the tube required).
